ASELA partnership remains strong

Association of South Essex Local Authorities Chair, Cllr Chris Hossack, Leader of Brentwood Council, has reassured residents, partners and colleagues that the partnership of South Essex councils remains strong and focused on its ongoing programmes.

“The intervention measures that the Government has announced for Thurrock Council have no impact on the joint work of the Association of South Essex Local Authorities,” said Cllr Hossack.

“Both Thurrock Council and Essex County Council, which has been appointed to the role of Commissioner and Best Value Inspector for Thurrock Council by the Government, remain key and committed members of the Association of South Essex Local Authorities (ASELA).

“ASELA remains focused on its key programmes, which are tackling challenges faced across South Essex that councils can’t solve individually and progressing solutions that make best use of collective scale and impact.

“I’m pleased to say all seven councils engaged in this important and long-term work remain committed and determined to continue working together to promote prosperity and wellbeing in our region.”
